Dill

(Anethum graveolens)

Dill is a summer annual, herbaceous plant and reaches growth heights of 30 to 75 centimetres, rarely up to 120 centimetres. All parts of the plant above ground are bare and the colour varies from light green to green-turquoise. All plant parts smell strongly aromatic. Dill is a versatile spice plant. It is used for salads. In sauces based on salad oil, yoghurt, quark. Dill is popular in spiced butter and is also suitable as a spread.

Ingredients

Dill contains valuable ingredients. These include, among others, fat, protein, carbohydrates and raw fiber. Minerals are also found, including calcium, potassium and sodium.
