Chamomile
(Matricaria Recutita)
Chamomile is an annual krautige plant and reaches stature heights from 15 to 50 cm. All plant parts have a strong, characteristic odor. The stems are upright or ascending and bare, in the upper part they are usually very strongly branched.
Ingredients
Camomile is chamomile oil, an essential oil that makes up 0.3 to 1.5% of the plant's mass. The main constituents of blue chamomile oil are (-) - α-bisabolol (5-70%), various bisabolol oxides (A: 5-60, B: 5-60 and C: 0-8%), trans-β-farneses (7 -45%), various enynedicycloethers (2-30%), as well as the guanine derivatives spathulenol (about 1%) and chamaviolin. The chamazulene, which is 1 to 35% oil-rich and responsible for the blue color, is produced from the matricin contained in the plant during its manufacture.
