The calendula (Calendula officinalis) is used today as a medicinal plant mainly for skin complaints or for wound treatment. But as an ornamental plant called the Calendula plant is now grown in many gardens. There, the marigold with its orange to yellow flowers is the point of attraction for useful insects and at the same time for the natural defense against pests.
